Regional Meetings: Working Together on Solutions for Personnel Shortages and Brain Drain

The water sector faces significant challenges. In the coming years, urban water management will undergo many changes, while the sector is simultaneously grappling with a shortage of qualified personnel. To address these issues, we warmly invite you to one of our regional meetings. Together, we will work to formulate concrete actions.

Why these regional meetings?

Work in urban water management is changing due to various developments worldwide. This brings significant challenges. At the same time, the outflow of personnel, knowledge, and experience from the sector is increasing, while the influx of new professionals remains limited. There is an urgent need for concrete actions to ensure we have enough qualified personnel for the future.

What can you contribute?

During the regional meetings, we want to work with you to create an action list and an opportunity program for the next two years. The goal is to increase visibility for the water sector and gain broader support. Do you have good ideas or valuable experiences? We invite you to actively contribute to the ‘Operation Strong Water’ program. Together, we can work on safeguarding knowledge, strengthening the sector, and retaining colleagues.

Operation Strong Water

‘Operation Strong Water’ is a non-profit collaboration between the Royal Netherlands Water Network (KNW), Wateropleidingen, and Stichting RIONED. Together, we strive to make the urban water sector robust and future-proof in terms of personnel. Read more about Operation Strong Water here.
