Certified Sewer Inspector

As a sewer inspector, you collect essential data to assess the sewer system and determine what measures may be needed.

For managing sewer systems, you are an indispensable link as a sewer inspector. During inspections, you gather crucial data that forms the basis for the system manager to evaluate the system’s functionality and decide if measures are necessary. These measures can range from small repairs to large-scale renovations, or even a complete replacement of sections of the system.

As a certified sewer inspector, you are capable of performing visual inspections according to the applicable standards and guidelines. This means following the standard NEN-EN 13508-2+A1, as well as the Guideline for Visual Inspection of External Sewer Systems by Stichting RIONED. This expertise enables you to identify any problems in the sewer system in a professional and precise manner. Subsequently, the manager can take timely and appropriate measures to ensure the system’s functionality and safety are not compromised. Your work, therefore, directly contributes to the maintenance and improvement of the infrastructure.

To enroll in this learning track, it is necessary to have completed 40 hours of inspection work under the supervision of a certified inspector. You can then start with the Introduction to Sewer Technology course. After this, you are eligible for the Visual Sewer Inspection for Inspectors (IVIR) course. Upon successfully completing the learning track, you will receive your diploma and become a certified sewer inspector.
